Very few people ask this question. We all know just by experience that flowers make us happy but don’t know-how. In short words, it is just the play of hormones that does all. Numerous studies have shown that this play of hormones is mostly an unconscious process that has developed over the history of humanity, although we have lost its significance. We consciously do not know how it all works, but it still works unconsciously. Let’s know how flowers can make you happy. Maybe knowing that helps you in choosing perfect mixed floral arrangements for the next occasion.

  1. Dopamine

Flowers release dopamine. It is a chemical that is released when you expect a reward. Flowers are the most common way of sharing happiness. Thus, the mind has feelings of happiness associated with flowers. The moment we see flowers, dopamine is triggered in our brain, which results in happiness.

2. Oxytocin

Studies have shown that flowers trigger the release of oxytocin. It is a hormone that is responsible for trust and is often called the bonding hormone. Flowers stimulate social trust by triggering oxytocin which eventually turns into happiness as we all crave social bonds.

3. Serotonin

Serotonin is a hormone that deals with stress and acts as an antidepressant in the body. When you buy flowers, it signals your mind to release serotonin. Studies have suggested that it has to do with the evolutionary process. Flowers are the sign of the end of winter. In the early ages, winter was very harsh as there were no such arrangements as we have today. So, the emergence of flowers was the end of hardships. Thus, our brain is entitled to stimulate serotonin when touched with flowers.

These are the three basic chemicals that are responsible for making us happy.

Rest, if you want to do something special for someone by sending flowers, you can get in touch with a good florist in Beverly Hills, CA. Florists know the science of flowers and understand how to create ideal flower arrangements as per the occasion.
